I have a bad water inlet valve on my Maytag MLG2000AWW. I got the replacement valve, but can't get to the valve assembly from the rear of the unit and I can't see how to remove the dryer in order to get to the washer top. Any ideas?

Thermador UCV36as problem with drivescrew and fork

While attempting to replace my selector switch assembly, I operated the snorkle in the up position before fully assembled. The snorkel bypassed the up limit switch, and ran the fork all the way to the top of the screw. The motor then stopped. I need to know how to get the fork back down to normal operating position so I can reassemble and test. Is there a way to do this from the top without disassembling the entire bottom cover, blower etc? I was hoping to remove the clips from the top of the screw which would remove the tention and then hand turn the screw drive bolt under the fork back down.  I really screwed things up, no pun intended! Any help greatly appreciated! I'm a DIY'er not a pro!

Maytag MHS2000AWW not draining fully

Maytag MHS2000AWW

When we first got this used, it worked perfectly, albeit the washer would occasionally knock during the spin cycles.  Well now, about 1.5 years later or so it doesn't appear to be draining fully (and I can't recall the last time I heard it knocking, though I am kind of glad for that because it scared me a few times, LOL).

Recently, when I would do a heavy load, like jeans, the bottom would still have about 1/4 gallon or so of visible standing water and I would have to ring out the bottom portion of clothing before putting into the dryer.  Now about a month into the problem I'm finding about a gallon of standing water no matter what I wash.  Running a spin/drain cycle, even multiple times, even empty, does not drain out the water.

Everything is coming out clean and nice smelling, so I think everything is working right except the draining.  Also, it appears to be backing up INSIDE the system, not outside or near where it pours into the pipe, because I haven't seen any external messes or anything.

Any ideas or suggestions?  I can't seem to find any troubleshooting online that covers this situation :(.

GE GFC300V Garbage Disposal Leaking

Hello there, I have a simple quick question about a garbage disposal unit. Near the bottom of the unit there is the pipe that connects to the drain, that's obvious. However, above that there is a hose connected with a hose clamp that is approximately two feet long and is capped at the other end. It goes nowhere and connects to nothing. Are disposals supposed to have a drain hose (other than the main) or a vent or something? This was here when I bought the house and it's now leaking where the hose is clamped onto the side of the disposal. I'm just wondering if that was the proper way to install this or if that hose should go somewhere and actually serve a function (which is seems like it should). Does anyone have an opinion? I'd appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

Intermittent spin problem with Maytag Centenial washer

I have a 2 year old Maytag MVWC300XW washer that will intermittently end with the cloths not completely spun dry and the spin light on at the end of the wash. I have the tech sheet and the error code has been F7E1 (basket speed sensor fault).

I have checked and reseated all connectors at the control board and shifter and motor. I have not had any problems running all the manual and automatic test modes, the tachometer verification mode or the UI test mode. I have the proper ohms reading for the shifter motor. I replaced the latch assembly because I read that it was a high fail item and I would sometimes get a flashing lid lock light during a spin cycle, which would ultimately clear at the end of the wash. The spin light would stay on however with the resultant F7E1 error code. I would also noticed on occasion a rapid series of clicks coming from the relays on the control board and the shifter (I think) when I had the spin failures. I have checked the control board for any bad solder joints and all look OK but suspect it is the source of the problem. If so I will probably get a new washer due to the cost of the board.

I just wanted to get any ones opinion on whether it may be the shifter or something else before I give up. Thank you for any input. I'm a die hard handyman and an old electronic technician and hate sending something to the dump that's so new.

LG MODEL wt1101cw S/N 301PNJC5N652 "UE" CODE ALMOST EVERY LOAD

LG Top Loader, Model wt1101cw Serial 301PNJC5N652.

UE code shows up on almost every load. Made the Warranty call, came out replaced the main board, and fiddled around, 6-7 loads later its back. the washer runs fine, no noises, no stops, then the UE code shows up and it continues to run but much slower. then it stops and the screen just blinks "UE" until it times out.

I bought this washer for its capacity, i use the living he*$ out of it. We are a family of 8 and the laundry room is where clothes go to mate and multiply.

Washer is on a concrete floor, has not been moved since delivery, and has had no other issues or trauma.

Evil GE Side By Side Spitting Ice on the Floor GSS25JEMA

Oh Wise One...  I come here today with a heavy heart.  I walked into my kitchen only to find puddles of water everywhere... My first thought was that Frosty the Snowman got out of the freezer and not even Santa could revive him then I thought that maybe the Penguin had gotten out of the freezer (Where do you keep your Penguin) but luckily neither of them wrere the problem...

It turns out my ice maker, now known as Christine seemed to have turned it's self on and proceeded to empty most of the tray onto my kitchen floor until the remaining ice jammed up the ice shoot. That actually was a good thing because the ice made a pretty good seal and nothing in my freezer defrosted.

So here I am looking at a refrigerator that appears to be acting normal again.  The lights on the display for the cube, crushed and water are all normal and when I push them it apears that all is fine.

I pulled out the almost empty ice tray, cleaned the remaining ice out of it and reinstalled it only to have the ice auger start to run.  It didn't matter if the tray was in place or not, if the door was closed the ice auger was suddenly running.  Pushing or pulling the activator bar in the door did nothing so I just try pushing the buttons.  I quickly find out that the crushed button doesn't seem to do anything but light up the led but the water button pees a steady stream of water on the floor. I soon learn not to push the water button.

I try the lever that I believe turns off the ice factory when the tray gets full, nothing... I turn off the switch on the ice maker, nothing.

Just as suddenly as it starts the auger stops running and all is calm in the kitchen.  Although I don't have any reason to believe that the touch panel is bad I remove the touch panel and unplug it hoping that that will prevent the unit from running at 3:00 am this morning.

Now I am stuck, it seemed like the touch  panel worked fine given that the unit peed water on my floor on command and the circuit board appears new, no burns or scorch marks.  In other words, I have no reason to condem that.  I know that the door switch will turn off the system so that doesn't appear to be connected to my problem.  I tried to turn off the switch on the unit and the auger kept running so that must just turn off the ice factory. I figured that the metal bar on the  bottom of the ice tray did something but moving it up or down didn't stop the auger from running.

In the last couple of years I have replaced the ice door solinoid because it was staying open.  I replaced what I think is the main mother board in the back because the compressor would for some reason just fail to start.... it seemed to solve the problem... other than that the unit has been pretty good...  well I constantly have a chunk of ice on the left top of  the freezer door that I blame on a door seal that acutally looks ok but still, other than that the unit has been pretty good.

So, Wise One, what do I do now... whatever caused the refrigerator to turn all Carrie on me... ever notice they use a lot of women's names when they make movies about evil... anyway, I digress, suddenly stopped causing the evil deeds so how do I go about diagnoisis this unit that at this instant seems to be fine?

Thank You

Bob
